Hairfarm to Softimage using .ASE importer

Post by 3DTutorial » 20 Apr 2022, 15:49

Hi !

Does anyone know how to use the .ASE importer for getting hair curves produced by Hairfarm in 3dsmax into Softimage?

It seems that python import script produces a single curve list inside of Softimage. So my question is OK.... what do you do with that? Specifically, what needs to be done in order to render those curves as "hair" ?

I'm guessing that that curvelist has to be converted to strands somehow... but I'm not sure.

Any clues to how this is supposed to be setup ?

Cheers,

Well, after a bit of messing about I think the secret sauce in the conversion is done with the Melena addon. Will have to continue my experiments....
