As always with video tutorials they claim over 11 hours as if long time was good instead of saying what a student will learn.

I don't think you can be in any doubt about the quality of this training video though - Jeremie really is worth learning from, I'm buying as soon as I have some training time :D

I agree that there is no direct complex equivalence between the length of time and subjective quality of a training video. However, nor does that suggest that it is not a useful learning experience. Way above my head and needs to be honest.

I did find that the intro video set out the main learning points though.

Most commercial video tutorials put me to sleep, rarely i see one that goes to the business at least in 3d. That is why i prefer amateur tuts.

Length can be an issue if the content isn't really interesting. I've seen this many times. Jeremie knows his stuff and I'm confident that he is thorough.

It's interesting people post their negative opinions on video training in general before watching the videos this thread is about. Should this be moved to another thread maybe? Might be more constructive and give this training a fair chance before people get a negative feel for the video without anyone actually viewing and commenting on it.

I only commented that way because it puts in relevance 11 hours of training, but i have no problem if the mod takes this discussion out of this thread. Probably more correct like you say.

Why is it I sense biased opinions, probably cause there is.

No, actually it seems quite natural, come to think of it. While I personally am convinced this training will be worth every penny, the lack of any serious review and/or comprehensive peer review makes every new product "fair game" to this kind of treatment with the accompanying generalizations. Having said that: it's good to refocus everybody and steer the thread back on track, so it doesn't get out of hand in that respect.
Maybe mister Passerin himself can shed some better/additional light on all this? Although cmivfx answered my personal query already, it might be a good start to talk about the real prerequisite knowledge of Python needed for all this, as I could imagine this to hold back some people from purchasing...

HB - I doubt that will happen, forum Softimage users are Sub-Softimage users.
