Hi,
I am trying to emulate the incidence shader in a Redshift workflow - There is no simple way to emulate the Incidence in Mental Ray (Light to Surface) - Could anyone assist me in how I would go about getting the inverted dot product between the light direction and the surface Normal (which is what I think would be Light to surface!)??
I am no TD so get dizzy with vectors and dot products!!
Many thanks in advance of any ideas!
Cheers,
Nick
Shading assistance?
Re: Shading assistance?
Redshift Fresnel should do it. What look are you going after?
I remember Incidence shader in mental ray is basicaly a Fresnel shader with controls, i think you can achieve any look the same in Redshift using the Fresnel, unchecking the "use index of refraction" and play with the sliders of facing color and perpendicular color with the curve falloff.
also uncheck the "correct facing color intensity" if you going for an artistic look
