this is all i know

i think most of the features are from within the Arnold Render WIndow that we do not have on softimage, the renderview is the xsi one, arnold has lots of features in its render view

I've asked Jenus and it is supported and I've tested it. The imager is attached to the camera lens. What surprises me is that most features of 7 are supported, even the SSS namesets. Thanks heaps Jenus for supporting the SI community.

Hmm, that is strange, I didn't get this issue. TBH I haven't used it in a while. I'll try again tonight if I get the time. Are you trying the Optix Denoiser or OIDN? I didn't try with Arnold native denoiser, so couldn't tell if it works.

I think I got it with render tree connecting imager node first to the camera and then adding imager nodes on that - this way it works but its realllly slow I dont know why - I have rtx3090 and Epyc Milan 24 core CPU. Tested also lens effects node with bloom and that one is fast but any denoiser is really slow that it defeats the purpose .... do you find this to be the case for you too?

well I'm using Arnold with Maya, and yes with denoiser is very slow. Optix grinds to a halt, I have 3080 as well. with OIDN it is a bit faster, but generally speaking denoiser with Arnold is very slow.

I see - what is the status of this plugin is it being updated still?

Not really, it's a one man effort at this stage and there is no more demand I guess. I've finally made the move to Maya. Tried blender, it's great but the workflow gets me bugged down, and I'd rather stab myself in the eyes then use it's animation system. so barely opening XSI anymore.

Hi guys!
I haven't been here for quite some time. Mainly because my antivirus software, which is forced on me by my company, is blocking this site. (something with password stealing javascript)
But I remember to logged in here now just to check on things.
I'm still developing SItoA, mainly for just myself. I'm not adding large features that require a lot of dev, but adding just some shaders and new options is not a problem.
Let me know if there's anything specific anyone want and I might add it. I think I will do a release soon again since it was a while ago.

Good to hear from you and thank you for keeping the torch alive. Honestly the v7 you provided was good and I'm still using it. If I were to ask for something it would be the individual triplane texturing and the new anisotropy controls for volume rendering. Triplane texturing being more important of course.

hey guys i have an issue, i cant find the displacement node anymore? how do you use displacement in arnold? i spent like 1 hour trying to find that node but its not there anymore... i think im drunk
