Hi, I've made some hair in Redshift, but it doesn't seem to have any motion blur when I render it.
I have tried adding a Strandvelocity attribute. I'm not sure what else to do (apart from switching motion blur on for deformation etc)
Does anyone have any experience or ideas?
Can ICE strands have motion blur in Redshift?
Re: Can ICE strands have motion blur in Redshift?
Hi Paul,
ice strands can be motion blurred just fine (as long as no bugs were introduced recently!) - all you should need to do is define pointvelocity and strandvelocity as attributes.
Some more info from the RS forums:
1) Compute the velocities “manually” in ICE by querying the PointPosition/StrandPosition of the current frame and the previous frame, taking the difference and multiplying by the frame rate, then storing the result in PointVelocity/StrandVelocity.
2) Use the “Strand Simulation Framework” but be aware that there are apparently some bugs in there though they seem simple to work around, see:
