ICE to read file dimensions

Post by Frank1000 » 02 Dec 2013, 23:52

Nika is helping me with ICE and we're at a point where we'd need ICE to know the files dimensions of images in an image sequence of different image dimensions. Is there a way to make the dimensions of each image readable by ICE ?

Frank

you can browse to the image source but nodes turn red when you access the dimension properties. did you tried it ? plus accessing a particular time on your clip seems tricky and not possible.

can you write an array with you images size, how many images did you have ?

keep in mind that ice can read texture maps so you can for example write 2 small pixel in a corner representing the scalar x or y value.

In my opinion you need to process your images in a compositing pakage to maintain the ratio if it's what you are after...

make sphere

sphere.Texture_Map.noIcon_pic.noIcon_pic.xres
sphere.Texture_Map.noIcon_pic.noIcon_pic.yres

for specific images or Sources.(imagename).XRes for generalization case.

I'll assume you have all the texture maps connected. Then use my vimeos to further expand the possibilities.

to test
connect either case above to the rate of particles in an emit from geometry on the sphere(total particles). and see what number it generates on frame 2 from a show value which connects the rate.
