I had a gear base mesh (that was made with help of EssentialGeo plugin ) that I want to extrude with capped bottom and preserved UV.
Result of Apply Thickness and AI Thickness compounds does not makes me happy, so I wrote a simple script that duplicate and inverts polygons of the object, merges two object together, hides original meshes and shows extrude and merge property pages

Re: Extrude script
that's not a bug of movenormal but expected behavior when moving weird polygons along normals

Yes, it's doing the same thing that my Push script do, but Weld Edges op that Interactive Thickness use doesn't always work for me.origin wrote:anyway, I use this plugin for ages, I think it does same thing as your plugin

I'm curious why Move Normal do this weird stuff. Push and standard extrude scale works great for hollow cube from the video

Re: Shell scripts
A script that extract extruded polygons to another object. Should I parent them?
