Polygon normal angles by default

Hello. Is that possible to change the angle by which normals are calculated? Looks like by default they are 60 degree. This makes a lot of display issues and I change them to 45 degree for every single object. Cheers

Isn't you Geometry Approximation (note its italic font style)a Shared property by default ?

So that you should only changed that value once per scene file.
You also can Delete that node, to make it using scene default value (became Shared property again).

Geometry Approximisation isn't a property by default. I attached that image to show what I need to be changed (as long as XSI isn't my native 3d software). Changing this value affects every object individualy not the scene.
I need normals to be calculated at 45 degrees by default.

Every polygon in XSI comes with Geometry Approximisation node (Display nodes etc.) by default.

Click it, select YES, to make it "LOCAL", to modify its parameter individually.
or select NO, to keep it "Shared", so that you change will be global, and affect all polygon in the scene file.

Don't forget, simply delete that node will make it Shared again(e.g. sometimes imported polygon already has LOCAL version of that node)

XSI has a LOT of these kind of streamlined features
Instead of redundant buttons on GUI. "make xxx local/global" ;)

Is it possible to make Geometry Approximisation 45 degrees for all new scenes? Because I don't need 60 degrees and I change it manualy every new project

Again, a custom event on "siOnBeginSceneOpen" will do that.
Or make a button on self, as you already known how to do that, to change it in one click.
But I have to say, change one value per scene, is not that hard.
