Cool but they don't want to make a linux version.
Starting for that i just don't want to use or learn a software this type anymore.

Ha!
You beat me to it with this one ;)
It has one killer feature (for me) that's worth the 40 bucks alone. Directly view, and paint in a 360 latlong (HDR) image.
It doesn't have the massive support of 3rd party apps like PS (e.g. plugins, Quixel Suite etc.), but it's fully featured and fast.
I bought Designer as well, and it's also a great app and perfect replacement for Illustrator in 90% of the cases.
With the sale, there's a free set of vector brushes that are very cool to play with.
@NNois: For a lot of smaller developer teams, Linux isn't a viable platform.
And due to the huge amount of requests from the Windows community, the peeps at Affinity finally gave in and created a Windows version as well.
And according to the 'gossip', this turned out to be a very smart move.
Don't get me wrong, I can see the lure of Linux in certain cases, but what flavor/distro are you gonna support? Which UI, and what version? For a smaller team it's just business decisions in the end.

edit: Just found out that Photo will import multi channel exr's with no issue at all, with or without pre-mult. So no plugin neccessary like exr-io for PS

Already found a little bug & workaround causing import issues for some .hdr files

Re: Serif releases Affinity Photo for Windows
@rork, sorry i'm rude here but everybody is waiting a Photoshop equivalent on linux, that's the only key missing.
I consider a very bad state of mind creating first an OS centric software, then having to beg them for a windows version, and now a linux one.
Crazy thing while everywhere everybody is talking about compatibility and OS agnostic software/games/apps

@Nnois: No need to be rude ;)
But if even Adobe doesn't see the profit in creating a Linux version of PS, it's hard on every other team.
And what about plugins? They do have to be rewritten for the Linux OS as well?
Like I said, I can see the lure of Linux, but certain apps will never arrive on that OS.
