particle renderer mental final gathering

is it possible to render the particle renderer with final gathering in a beauty pass, using final gathering or ambient inclusion, you can see the bounding box of the particle volume block out incoming rays.

not sure, have you enabled enough transparency ray depths ?.. under optimization you really want quite a high refraction and due to that combined value... like refraction set to hundreds if not thousands if you are wanting decent fg + ao using particles hehe, enough to cover every one onscreen at the same time :P. Your particles shouldn't really be taken into account with fg / ao tho imho... atleast not the full amount ?. I'd either use ray switch to make them invisible to either or adjust your point clouds visability settings / render out particles as a seperate pass.:)
