:ymhug: count me as a friend Nika , I enjoy your videos, apart from the Maya ones. but I understand you have to appeal to the crowds.

Hey,

Nice method. However, I couldn't make it work on a sphere just on a grid. And, for some reason, the scanning was not really straightforward :). Finally, Apply Thickness is slow as hell, and doesn't cap the mesh :) on SI2014SP1

Anyway, really nice method, I learned a lot of ICE while I remade it :D

Harry Kaufmann made it - he turned it into a state of art ))) read the comments to video
and yoy`re right - apply thickness is slow as hell and leaves a cap ))) i also noticed it, but AFTER i published a video, he he he )))
if you add get topology->set topology nodes to repeat with counter caps will close )))
but it is "oldschool" now with Harry`s solution, just kidding - it could be used to shatter glass for example
can`t wait to get my hands on what he has done
also he suggested to filter generator particles with weightmap for example - to create controllable cracks - very nice idea !!!

in case you missed comments on vimeo))) found some modeling usage - you could make some procedural castles, or walls or fundaments or roads

http://db.tt/xVnnGhHt

screwed some dynamics - in the end i followed this lesson vimeo.com/50808495 to create separate chunks and then created standart rigid bodies from them and exploded )))

part 2 will be very soon )))

Your videos are great and the Maya ones are excellent (I blogged about one).
Anything that shows how Softimage/ICE and Maya can interop together is a good thing in my book.

Hi nikaragua86,

Thanks for the tutorials, very informative and a good use of lateral thinking. Enjoyed it very much.

BTW, your video made it to the Proceduralism channel. Congratulation.
