Hi there,
I was sure i've used a distance node in the render tree before but I cant for the life of me find it. I think it just returned the primary ray distance and you had to deal with it form there.
Am i going crazy or is there a node that does that hidden away somewhere?

Also Binary Alchemy Ray Length shader has some more options.

"The" distance node is hidden indeed, it's behind Vector-Scalar, operation setting=Distance between V1 and V2
you'll find dot product there too as well as vector length of V1.

Hey just wondering, is there any way to drag the vector3 position of two objects into the input plugs here?

Edit - Actually I'm having a bit of trouble getting the results I was from this I was hoping it would gradually fade along the surface from one point to the other (Like a zdepth pass).
Not like this where the whole object's colour is depending on the distance result -
Basically I guess i'm looking for a ray distance (from the camera) type node. I'm sure I've used it before but where it's hidden I have no idea...
