Uniform planar UV projection

Post by bottleofram » 01 May 2013, 12:03

Fairly simple question here.

Lets say i have a rectangular plane and i want to apply a planar UV projection to it. Easy enough: Property>Texture Projection>Planar XZ

This is the result:

Now, those faces are obviously stretched and i dont want that. I want texture support to be uniform. Like this:

Creating a subprojection with "Maintain Aspect Ratio" ticked on will give me the desired result but is there a way to do it without this extra step?

Thanks

Have you tried "create new projection..." use best fit

Yeah, going with the texture wizard was the only clue i could find in the docs but no, it still fits it non-uniformly.

BTW I used scaling on the mesh to make the square rectangle otherwise it won't work
