emTopolizer 2
v.2.400 updated Dec 21st 2017 — as of now, all of Eric's plugins including emTopolizer2
are available for free.
While working at Framestore on the »2013 Nissan Altima: Wouldn't It Be Cool?« spot with Tim Borgmann and Chris Keller, Eric developed a whole suite of topology manipulating ICE compounds that he now releases as »emTopolizer«. Core piece is an operator stack-like ICE compound that simplifies working with with topology in ICE and is able to deal with massive amounts of particles/polygons while maintaining a very high performance.
From his webpage: emTopolizer is a Softimage ICE plugin for creating, accessing and manipulating geometry within ICE. The plugin consists of an Addon that contains a "DLL" file (Windows) or "so" file (Linux) for the custom ICE node (compiled C++ code for 64 bit versions of Softimage) and many ICE compounds. Feature list of emTopolizer: High speed geometry caching ICE compounds — (.mzd, .emp2, .obj sequence and Realflow .bin formats) high performance polygonizer within ICE: with new memory management UVW Engineer: automatic UV coordinate generating for changing topologies (typically liquids) Access to vertex/polygon island data in linear time. Thickenizer Shatterizer The Geometry Free Reader Many further little high speed goodies.
For videos from the April 2014 release see the si-community thread linked below. Older videos available on vimeo: Walkthrough, A closer look at the demo scenes, Vertex Islands, The Geometry Reader and Writer, The Polygonizer Jungle and an interesting lookdev spot for the Nissan ad by Tim Borgmann. See emTopolizer2 2.36 Tutorial 04 — Generate PCA Normals for the March update additions / emTopolizer2 2.35 Tutorial 03 — Extrude isolated Polygons for the February update additions /Version History). The previous big update featured a rewritten polygonizer core.

emTopolizer2 v.2.2 (featuring "the new polygonizer core")
Howdy people!
I am pleased to announce the new version 2.2 of emTopolizer2
The main feature of this update is the brand new polygonizer core I worked on during the past weeks.
Let me not bore you with details and just get straight to the point: with this new polygonizer one can finally create good looking and flicker free meshes, yessiree!
To download the new version just check out the emTopolizer2 web page.
If you wish to upgrade or purchase the plugin (and, ahem, at the same time support your local Softimage plugin developer, hint!, hint!) just go to the Mootzoid order web page or drop me an email.
Below are a few videos that were made with the beta, as well as a tutorial in which I demonstrate and talk about the new polygonizer.
Hope this new version will make any meshing jobs easier for you guys ;)
Cheers!
Eric

Re: emTopolizer2 v.2.2 (featuring "the new polygonizer core")
Awesome! Thanks for supporting XSI.
Re: emTopolizer2 v.2.2 (featuring "the new polygonizer core")
These are amazing! Thanks for making this available to the rest of us.
Re: emTopolizer2 v.2.2 (featuring "the new polygonizer core")
Thanks, guys, my pleasure!
Re: emTopolizer2 v.2.2 (featuring "the new polygonizer core")
I would love to see it on actual high resolution simulations and how it would look then.
Is this now also avaible in maya ?
Would love to compare it to the mesher from naiad and just see the different results.

Re: emTopolizer2 v.2.2 (featuring "the new polygonizer core")
I'm currently working on it.Is this now also avaible in maya ?
The new polygonizer core for Fabric Engine and Maya will be available in a few weeks.
Re: emTopolizer2 v.2.2 (featuring "the new polygonizer core")
If you use Softimage and don't have this plugin, there's so many things you won't be getting done.
Re: emTopolizer2 v.2.2 (featuring "the new polygonizer core")
Just wanted to share this lovely test-animation made by Wolfgang Hurst. It uses the new "Group ID" functionality which allows one to group particles:
Re: emTopolizer2 v.2.2 (featuring "the new polygonizer core")
Wow, this is amazing. Future proof, ahead of the game and wonderful work!
Once I can devote the time and funds to it, you have my investment for sure.

Re: emTopolizer2 v.2.2 (featuring "the new polygonizer core")
Wow that was unexpected. I was thinking: what i was seeing and what was the topolizer job in it? since it just seems a softbody simulation. How does he can get so amazing surface from the particles?

Re: emTopolizer2 v.2.2 (featuring "the new polygonizer core")
That would be the new "denoise" and "liquid shaper" features as well as the new normal vector generation.

Hey guys,
There is a further update of emTopolizer2 (it's version 2.3).
It contains quite some fixes and improvements and also the new "Particle Cache File" tools. These tools allow you to read, write and convert many different particle cache file formats.
Here the list of currently supported formats:
".bgeo" (Houdini, prior to version 12).
".bhclassic" (Houdini, prior to version 12).
".geo" (Houdini, prior to version 12).
".hclassic" (Houdini, prior to version 12).
".pdb32" (Maya).
".pdb64" (Maya).
".mc" (3ds max / Maya).
".ptc" (RenderMan).
".bin" (RealFlow particle format).
".pts" (3D Points File).
".ptf" (Maya).
".itbl" (Houdini).
".atbl" (Houdini).
These tools will hopefully make it easier to work with particle data coming from other apps or, of course, to provide particle data for other apps.
There will be a newsletter coming in 3-4 days, but since the new version can already be downloaded from my site I thought I'd quickly mention it here.
Cheers!
Eric
PS: there will also be a video tutorial coming in which I demonstrate the usage of the new "Particle Cache file" tools.

That looks very useful for Softimage.
