Firefly compounds

Hello everyone.
I am Pierre Lalancette.

Two little Softimage ICE compounds that you can find on my web site:
http://www.lalancelot.com under the Scripts tab.

Those compounds drive the particles into a geometry like a flock of fireflies.

To have those available into the ICE tree, you need to put them into the Softimage Compounds directory. Mine is at that location:
C:\Users\Lancelot\Autodesk\Softimage_2012\Data\Compounds

To make those works, you need one or two pointclouds and geometry. You create a simulated ICE Tree into each pointcloud and plug the “Firefly” compound like this:

And you’ll get results like this:

Play and particles should come out of each point and fly into the geometry. You want more particles? Add some “Emission Frames”. You want fewer particles? Add some “Emission Step”.

Then plug the “Firefly with Master” compound like this into the second pointcloud ICE Tree.

And you’ll get results like this:

Here you go. Use as you wish at your own risks.
Have fun!
