Hey guys,
On the current project we are using vray. so far not really like it.
any how have a question about hold outs. in MR and other renders, we could use a Black constant with its alpha at zero and it would create a hold out(black out) matte. that would affect the alpha. I tried it inside vray and i didn't seem to work. my other option is using multi matte channel, which works fine. But i would prefer in the rendered image. and not the channel.
and some one please show me how to get it create something so simple in vray.
thanks

Re: Vray Q&A Hold out matte
take a look at "VRayMtlWrapper" shader node. there are Matte properties which could get you there.

Re: Vray Q&A Hold out matte
It was right there the whole time. just had to take the alpha contribution to -1 to work.
