How to render larger frame than camera dimension (overscan?)
How to render larger frame than camera dimension (overscan?)
I setup my camera, animation, etc and I'm ready to render. Unfortunately, the shot I need to comp into has a camera truckout on it. How can I render my 1920x1080 camera, but with say an addition 200 px border around it.. So my rendered images should be 2320x1480, with the full HD image in the center.
Re: How to render larger frame than camera dimension (overscan?)
Hi,
Just saw this one, hope it's not too late for a reply..
Quickest way: Multiply the camera fov by the resolution increase, and also multiply the render resolution by the same and you should be set.
But there are some overscan scripts out there for SI, but here's one from the guys from Kettle Studio.
Hope it helps,
rob

Re: How to render larger frame than camera dimension (overscan?)
Render it out at 1920x1080, import into fxtree and use a black png image (with/out alpha as needed) sized 2320x1480 with the file options changed to reflect the time line length. Render this type of work in the fxtree should not take long at all. If they need another border later it's not an issue to re-render this way.
