Re: SiScatter
You can look on your plug-in manager : On the "Tree" tab -> "siScatter (Addon)" -> "Plug-ins" -> "siScatter" : right click -> "Properties..." You may find "major version" : 1 and "minor version" 4. I will also check my download l...

Re: SiScatter
Ah... I don't think Julien updated the download link in this thread. The version I have I got straight from him for testing the camera filter. I'm sure he'll update the download but if not I'll share the version I have. The camera filter would be a great addition. Thanks, I will keep my eye on this...

Jiggle 101
Does anyone know if there is anything out there like the Jiggle plugin for max? Have a look at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AaUfuGiQmi4 It seems to preserve volume allot better than using spring forces which does not really calculate angular velocity so well. I'm sure this will be possible to do w...

Thanks Ahmidou. This tool is a massive bonus. Any plans to pick this up again?

Re: solidangle.com is dead, long live solidangle.com
It's good to see Solidangle going live after the long wait.
We were lucky enough to be part of the beta for the last 3 years, and it was a great experience. I'm loving rendering again.
Try it out and see your art reach new levels of awesomeness....and no, I don't work for Solidangle.

Re: Tangent map in ICE?
Hi, Thanks for your input Mathaeus. We want to do displace the geometry rather then the particle or strand positions. Similar to but with vector displacement. This way we will know for sure that the particles will follow/sit on the mesh perfectly. I think my...

Tangent map in ICE?
Hi, We are trying to find a work around when it comes to strand fur/hair on geometry with fine vector displacement maps. Every time we get a project like this, it creates all kinds of problems. Our current fix is to use displacement maps to drive the right offset for strand positions, because displa...

Re: Kristinka Hair 3.0 released
Hi, We are having a bad day with fur on one of our characters, and found the problem to be "PolygonRefFrame" that gets screwed up once a mesh has been subdivided by zbrush or Mudbox. Subdividing the mesh in xsi seems to work ok, and does not affect the poly orientations. We use KH Deform h...

Strands in Soft 2014?
Can anyone confirm that Strand rendering in Softimage 2014 is broken. We use Arnold, but tried with Mental Ray just to double check and it renders the strands wrong.
Any ideas?
