Re: Copying Camera animation from one to another
You can do the same thing in the Animation Editor also if you are more comfortable there. It is similar to the other method, using the Region Select tool. I like using the dope sheet for timing and more global moving around and copy paste of key frames. But you can use the Animation Editor for this ...

Re: Low lit room issues
Well let me ask about the other extreme then. Say I have a studio lighting animation where everything is just infinite white and I have objects moving around and deforming. Would I get flicker with final gather? I know LightWave's radiosity get's a lot of flicker without cache.. and it doesn't even...

Re: Copying Camera animation from one to another
You would not want to use the method described in your situation. Because that is more of an overwrite. There is no control over where the frames go with that option. In the manual there is a whole section devoted to copying animation. To go from one object to another in the way you were looking for...

Save Poses Not Working in Face Robot 2013?
Actually I have not tried this in another version. But I am just working through the manual for FR and I am at the point where I have the head solved and I was testing out saving poses from the Act Synoptic using Pose All or Pose Sel. And I can not for the life of me get it to actually save a file. ...

Thanks for the review on Maxwell. I turned it down for similar reasons. But I am surprised of the many day to day features it does not support I was unaware of.

Re: Phil Taylor Rabbit Rig Tutorial
Thanks for the link. Downloading now. I had some files that may have been corrupt. So I'll see how this goes. As far as current, at least this should give a basic understanding of the process. On this improvements could be built. And if anyone has suggestions or other tuts that'd be great. I do have...

Does anyone have this tutorial and don't mind sharing a link to a download? Looks like it was a great tutorial but now not to be found.

Can not Set leyframe on effector.
Actually I seem to run into this often. But I am very new to animating in Softimage. So I am not sure what gives. I wonder if anyone could have a look at this scene file and tell me why the effector at the end of the chain will not take keyframes? Probably just a simple thing I don't understand just...

Trackball Style Navigation
I have been searching all over the manuals and the internet and I can not seem to find the answer. I want to be able to freely navigate in all directions and currently by default in Softimage it is set to Turntable navigation on the Y axis. Is there some way to switch this? I have a project that abs...

Re: Syflex Wind negative directions doesn't work
More than likely you have a geometry issue. Meaning, maybe you don't have enough resolution on the cloth to fold over the table. Another tip is to try increasing the friction on the table object collision properties. For some reason in Syflex this helps also with collisions. If yo can post images of...

Re: Pin Contraint Problem
I think the essence of this problem lies within the pin compound. The only way it works is if you have a mesh with the exact points set up. In other words a duplicate mesh. The sample scene file confirms this. What is happening is the points are being told to get the point info and when that info is...

Re: Pin Contraint Problem
Your screenshot shows you have a syflexICollideMesh node in your ICE Tree. In general, don't use those lower-level nodes unless you have a good reason for it. Prefer the nodes like Syflex Collide Mesh. Hmmm... I think there is some confusion here. Here is the screen shot from sample scene of a Syfl...

Re: Pin Contraint Problem
That's what I am using. For me here, it does not work at all. If I am doing something wrong, please someone point it out. I am doing as far as I know by the book and it looks more like a bug than finicky. You say you've done this before. When? What version? Tried it lately with 2012? Working scene f...

Re: Pin Contraint Problem
Right. Thanks. I have not touched the innards. The nodes in the screen shot are the nodes that are shipping with 2012. All I did was try to disconnect it. However it is all moot. I am just trying to solve this issue which is the only reason I tried to open the compound in the first place. The screen...

When I try to connect my Ice tree like this in the docs: http://download.autodesk.com/global/docs/softimage2012/en_us/userguide/images/GUID-E6CD8A70-8136-4CE9-9C04-23767E58AF62-low.png To my pinned cloth mesh here: PinConst1.jpg I get this: PinConst2.jpg I found this. http://xsisupport.wordpress.com...

Re: 3delight tests
Yeah, that is exactly what it looks like. But there are no lights in the scene. Well there is the physical sky shader, and it has a sun that is "casting" light. You can change the position of it and it will shine at different angles and effect the position of that shadow. So I tried settin...
