Re: Softimage Garage | BforArtistsXT
Nice. Again... just curious, are you hosting this somewhere to access the code to compile it and see what's changed behind the scenes? is this also on Github? I can't really propose much to the Bforartists master if there are any changes to the C code.... or are you doing everything with Python on t...

Re: Blender release roadmap
It's focused on LTS, so that studios can get bug fixes without major new or pushed features - which I think is a good move. The number jumping per year is a gimmick though.

Re: Softimage Garage | BforArtistsXT
I've had a quick whirl. Just curious, do you host your fork source on Github also? I'm just wondering how I'm going to propose and splice back some of your suggestions into the master.

Re: Bforartists 2 - Alpha 0.9.0 + Ecycles
Bforartists is free. With E-cycles it WAS free for like 30 minutes, then it went to normal price. I have updated the text accordingly.
Sorry bout that.... Not sure what happened there.

Re: Blender in 2020 - development path
I like where things are heading. Library overrides, Everthing nodes for particles and more, faster animation and performance across the board, OpenVDB and better volumetrics... everything I need.

Re: Softimage Garage | BforArtistsXT
Oh awesome! I'll be pending on the code release you'll do so I know how to pitch the feature patches to merge better. I really like the quick 4 view saver. We had a view saver in Bforartists 1, but it broke in 2.8+ builds.

Handy. When I am playing between DCC's, I'll use this.

Re: Softimage Garage | BforArtistsXT
Huh! Some of these changes are pretty good. Mind if I actually post this back to the devs of BFA so some of these changes actually make it into the master of Bforartists? I'm pretty close to the lead dev. I'd probably have to propose some things point by point. I love Bforartists, it has made me hop...

Re: Spaceship Modules
Woah, the detail and the shading of this is amazing. I really like it.
I also like how it's not as greebled as most scifi fads prefer.

Re: Space switching new character animation technique?
Space switching.. basically yeah.. what you said. A position constraint to null with animated blend. Nothing new. It is a nice tip.
Re: Maya 2020
Seems like it's all mostly performance and auto caching and finetuning UI things. Nothing new and fandangled, which is ok. But that was my take from the video.

Re: Blender 2.81
Ah damn.. I wrote a large response and lost it.. so here it is again... Stability: It's about.. as stable as my experience with Softimage 2015. I have never lost a lot of work due to a crash. I'd say the Autosave of Blender is great. Every 2 minutes your file is backed up to a destination of choice,...

Re: Blender 2.81 soon
Nice. On a side note, Bforartists will also release with 2.81 merged in on the Friday 22nd. This Blender version has intel denoising, new sculpt brushes, better outliner (standard walking, shift/ctrl workflow from other software, and better use! Finally....), updates to Eevee and Cycles, voxel remes...

Re: They keep joining in
Really? I love Eevee, hated Blender Render. I've done about half a dozen projects in Eevee this year, and it has delivered. Reflections and refraction can be improved, and some better GI, but it's really fast for what it is. It's like.. authoring in Unreal Engine. It can do everything Blender Render...
