Re: Power extrude
ajhorvath, you can save the page from the dropbox address. Once the page is loaded just save it and if the extension is messed up rename it to "xsiaddon" (without quotes).

Extruding Eps / Illustrator files
I'm trying to extrude a vector file either with the extrude command or the loft (duplicating the vector file first). In each case it seems it doesn't work really well. The Vector is extruded but there's no surface on front or back of the path. So, basically, it's been extruded but only along the sid...

Re: Very basic question: object ID / alpha matte
Hirazi Blue, you're absolutely right. The User's Guide looks really good and well organized. For instance, it's been really easy to find out how to export the depth pass in a few simple steps. I was struggling with camera settings, shaders, but for my needs and a quick depth render the depth pass pr...

Re: Very basic question: object ID / alpha matte
Thanks Mathaeus, it works really fine. In the meantime I kept looking for a good introduction to passes and partitions and I found this: http://vimeo.com/groups/66775/videos/16118812 It seems it's meant for XSI 6.5 but I guess it still works fine for SI 2011/12. Any other good resources about this t...

Very basic question: object ID / alpha matte
Sorry for this very basic question, the thing is I wanted to use MR and now I'm kinda stuck with this very simple step. I know I've to read about render pass and probably store in channel options, or just find a good tutorial. I tried about the tutorial - they all require to go through quite long in...

Re: IRay Progressive Rendering Tests
Oh yes, definitely. I was asking only because I already tried and it didn't work. I was wondering if it was because of the video card.
I'll give it another try though, I could just have done something wrong.
Thanks rray.

Re: Adding tip to strands and driving the growth.
Mathaeus, I've replaced the original grid in the balloon file with a sphere, so far so good. Anyway, animating the strand length I get this weird issue: (frame 0) http://i.imgur.com/oFWHS.jpg (forward...) http://i.imgur.com/8hHFg.jpg Some of the strands are moving toward the point 0,0,0. Is there a ...

Re: Adding tip to strands and driving the growth.
Thanks Mathaeus. The balloon file is really interesting. I'm trying to duplicate that setup on my scene, somehow I cannot get it working. Is there any issue using that setup with a simulated ICE? I've some growing strands. By the way, I made a rough animation in C4D to show what I meant about the gr...

Adding tip to strands and driving the growth.
Hi, I've a simple scene with a basic growing strand setup. I'm trying to figure out how to add a tip to the strands like for example, a sphere right at the end of each strand. It's something like what we see in the 3D view port when we preview any ICE simulation: http://i.imgur.com/uXCRi.jpg I guess...

Re: New Grass
I've got some question, what does Weight_map does? beacuse Height_map let you paint the grass, but when I draw having wight_map selected, nothing happen. What's overral color wheight, strand color gradient and strand color weight?, beacuse doing some testing, I can change the color of the strands w...

Glass on neon, trying to achieve something similar.
I was trying to have something like in the following image: http://i.imgur.com/OxmGQ.jpg First I started with a simple phong, some transparencies and a neon light inside the tube: http://i.imgur.com/6C6jb.jpg Then I tried with a glass shader and a volume effect: http://i.imgur.com/64y24.jpg The glas...

Re: Cinema 4D r.13 announced
Blender, for the view port speed Is it that fast? Have you done comparisons? Maybe you could add a comparison using this scene, I am quite curious: Lightwave http://vimeo.com/25913111 Softimage http://vimeo.com/25913180 Haven't still got the time to make that test. The feeling is that SI viewport p...
