Re: They keep joining in
The news for Blender has been quite interesting this year. I'm curious to see where it goes.

Re: What are you working on?
Nice, I love this thread. I'm working on a personal project of making volumetrics with eevee in Blender/Bforartists. It's fun. I also finished a game for an exhibit in Unreal Engine/Bforartists (to author) and doing motion graphics in Bforartists/Eevee. I have move on 100% to Bforartists and sometim...

I am also pleasantly surprised. I have long left Autodesk, but if I had to go back with this, it wouldn't be so bad as expected.

Re: Blender 2.8 RC, Epic donate 1.2M$ to Blender Foundation
I think this is somewhat huge. I mean.... it's cash for opensource. All development is GPL. It's.. just there, to use. Which is nice. I have helped compile and do some tasks for the Bforartists fork, which has made the UI of 2.8 that much more consistent and easier to learn. I am still not a big fan...

Re: So long, and thanks for all the Fish.....
Bold move, but a sane one. I'm glad to have seen your activity here. I haven't done a project in SI for near a year and half now, moved to Blender fork Bforartists 100%, and Unreal Engine. I develop for it a little, and I have to say, the new viewport and the opensource development on GPL license ha...

Re: Unreal Engine for free
Woah, that's cool they are leaving it for free and relatively opensource, that is.. some heart. Acquire, leave it free, incorporate the tech. I do like Epic Games, even if they are gigantic.

HAPPY BIG 10TH YEAR. Monumental, and also testament of how time flies. I feel like I migrated from Si not a year ago. Long live efficient pipelines that any artist can pick up quickly with unlimited flexible power to boot.

Re: Blender 2.8+ Nodal (ICE) design documents
I am quietly excited for this. I'm not sure how fast this will be when it comes to crunching large datasets, but I've used Animation Nodes and the head dev for these concepts is developing these - the workflow is quite straightforward.

Re: Bifrost Beta
It does sound like an old concept as "huge innovation" - and about damn time. I guess their resulting magic bullet to sell this will ultimately have to be good presets and node-trees with great optimization, like.. playback/calculation speeds.

Re: Raytraced based viewports coming?
Those options are crazy! So many killer combos. Clarisse has always perked my interest with the responsiveness to handle and render huge datasets. Very cool. The idea of near responsive updates of raytraced path refinement in a viewport, even Blender 2.8 can do that with Cycles, so not sure where th...

Re: Best Blender 2.8 build?
Nice, since this is a fork that exists for already a long time gives some confidence, hows it with Blender plugins like hardops and boxcutter ? If it works in B2.8, then it'd work in BFA2. The addon hotkeys may conflict, but that is just the addon's habit that adds hotkeys without regard to what is...

Re: Regarding the Prop Tool...
In the GUI, there is a button that says PROP on the right, below the transform readouts. Activate this, and the tool is turned on. The buttons for this is.. god it has been so long... you can configure it in the hotkey editor under the XSI group?

Re: Best Blender 2.8 build?
And at side of that is a small side drop button that makes click in to appear 2 tabs for 2 click in. Why just not make the tabs visible...50% less clicks. The fork Bforartists made the side panel/tabs open as a default from the 3D Viewport. Concerning the Gizmo discussion, you can configure Blender...
