Yes, ICE does not work with passes just yet. normally in these kind of situations I have a live simulated point cloud 'master' which is then cached with Animate>Tools>Plot>Write geometry cache then any different passes can have their own associated cached point clouds with different particles / mate...

I think this site is great and try and visit it often, there nothing obviously wrong, it is just the extra 'voices' that are missing - IMO the shellshock or post traumatic stress of the previous Softimage community site being butchered takes time to heal. As the proverb goes 'once bitten, twice shy'...

Well .PC2 would be the obvious choice being a format both ICE & KP_Pointcache uses. not sure if it supports meshes that change polycount per frame though.

Hi Owei this looks promising - finally a metaballs mesh solver that works with ICE. I'm a little concerned, it still looks very similar to the default blobs output that is built in with Softimage ICE particles at the moment. Are there any plans to advance the surface mesh solution?
