I don't think you need any new serial etc. Should just work as is with the 2011 license.

I don't think he can tell you because he's in the arnold beta program as he mentioned above, so can't say anything specific about the arnold shaders he or other people used.

rray - nice tests! You should really have a look at arnold for those renders, its much much better at memory management on big scenes.
