Re: Low lit room issues
Well let me ask about the other extreme then. Say I have a studio lighting animation where everything is just infinite white and I have objects moving around and deforming. Would I get flicker with final gather? I know LightWave's radiosity get's a lot of flicker without cache.. and it doesn't even ...

Re: Low lit room issues
I'm trying to get two black and white images on this wall.. One on the top and one on the bottom. I've made a cubic projection so that I can control the size better. It seems like when I try to mix them that only one of them shows. I can't figure out how to make the black and white image work as a t...

Re: Low lit room issues
Awesome!! Thanks so much for your help! I'm gonna get home and do a few texts after I texture some things. Is there somewhere I can read more on unified sampling or just mental ray for XSI in general?

Re: Low lit room issues
Is that with the unified sampling or the regular system? I guess it will depend too on resolution right? Do you up differend numbers for bigger resolutions? I'm doing 1280x720

Low lit room issues
Hey all,
I'm trying to get a low lit room rendered and I can't seem to get the room lit without blowing out the lights. I'm using 3 area lights.
Here's what the scene looks like / settings.

Re: AD subscription
Yeah it just doesn't make sense to me why they'd only do that for Max. Seems like they want most people heading that way. The only problem I have with max is that you spend so much more money an all the essential plugins (Box, krakatoa, TP, fumefx, etc.) and they all cost quite a bit. You might save...

Re: AD subscription
Nah, this is totally on topic. It'd be good to know and compare with mental ray.Letterbox wrote:Arnolds rendering policy is core's/cpu's/batch.
I know it's off topic, but fair's fair you deserve a bit of marketing freedom.
