Re: What if Softimage died?
Now switch your Viewport to quad. Or tear the outliner off and dock it beside the AE. Docking doesn't mean switching a panel to a view. Also you don't have two instances of the outliner. You have one instance with two halfes of an outliner. You can't have two floating outliner. That's a fact. Ok :)

Although... I do not understand, why you are not tackling the most pressing issues first: <picture of small annoying things forum> I am not.. sure.. what you mean here. (Small Annoying Things by definition aren't "pressing") If you mean, why aren't "you" working on the small ann...

Re: Autodesk, Pixar and Open Subdivs
So I cannot make any comment anymore that has a hint of ad in it? I was reacting to a statement of another member and I think it was completely valid to point that out. It is something everyone here knows. I didn't bring it up. If you don't like what I have to say, feel free to ignore it, but don't...

Re: Autodesk, Pixar and Open Subdivs
It's kind of ironic indeed that they keep shoving new things in on top of the old stuff. I would have expected an open source app to be always on top of things.... Well we know that procedure well from your employer don't we? And I expect commercial software to be on top of things even more and it ...

Re: Speedmodeling #1 - Sports
Interesting how nobody took up the gauntlet to open the second installment of this challenge. Sort of proves my point, I'm afraid... ;) I dont think you're correct here. Not many people at all (IMHO) model in softimage - period. Why start now, even for a 90 minute challenge when you can work so muc...

Re: 2014 WISH LIST
Because no matter how useful people think it may be, it can set an unrealistic expectation. I wouldn't worry about that too much, most of us know full well what to realistically expect of Softimage. So we all would expect from Softimage that it shouldn't be a crap like Maya;) What is this supposed ...

Re: Mental Ray: worth learning?
I think 3delight is a great renderer once you learn to read and write rsl so you can make an ubershader. Then, you can keep going and make a custom display driver and implement "relighting" so you can only rerender parts that have changed instead of the whole image without having to go out...

Re: importing weights + effectors
Thanks for the replies, guys. I re-wrote some and made it so that it would zero all the weights before applying the new ones. In fact, Im certain that because I didnt do this before, I was just getting the same linear envelope that I initially set. Im also looking into setting values more accurately...
