Re: Smoke - Cache particles? emFluids
Hey Wolfram..there are also nodes to create a string and pipe that string into the path port of the loader. That might also help to off set the animation by building the path by feet..and should be easy.. If you store VDBs and read them with Arnold or RS, you can easyily ofsett the clouds.. cheers, ...

Re: Smoke - Cache particles? emFluids
Hey Wolfram, here is a quick scene based on the "smoke_basic" demo scene. First unhide the sim PC , ache the data. Hide the sim PC and unhide the read PC..here you go.. But i would recommend using Houdini instead of learning emFluid. It´s a dead plugin and a dead software, no matter what.....

Re: Smoke - Cache particles? emFluids
Hey Wolfram,
yes, emFluid is a beast
Try to use new seperate pointcloud as a loader and put it together like this..I have not found a simple scene..will look again tomorrow
Like the error message say, the loader belongs into the grid as an grid operator..

Re: Smoke - Cache particles? emFluids
HEy Wolfram, I think you are getting something wrong. You can´t load the caches with the normal cache reader nore write them. You need the emFluid cache reader for this. They are called "Save Grid! and "Load Grid" as the store voxel data, no particle data or geo..Maybe look at the man...

Re: Smoke - Cache particles? emFluids
Hey Wolfram, Oliver Weingarten here..sure it should work like this. We worked "together" on the Playmobil movies..back in the days I did all the sims with emFluid and handed over VDBs to Bart..sigh..good old days ;) I think Eric has still some tuts on his vineo site.. https://vimeo.com/moo...

Much blabla..they are talking about Bifrost for years and years..XSI is "dead" since half a decade now...better software faster, they claimed..lol. sure Take Houdini for stuff like that and don´t waste time on AD

Re: Redshift got bougth by Maxon
Well, how knows what this brings. Maxon or better Nemetschek is not as big as AD or Adobe (I guess), not as monopolistic. Maybe it kicks RS into the right or better direction. I don´t think that Redshift performed that well in the last years in terms of "professional" features and needs. M...

Re: Maya 2019 released...
Well, developing DCCs is expensive..and the market is satisfied with crappy solutions. No reason to change that from their point of view. Blender evolved a lot and is growing. I really see anybody else stepping up at the moment to improve their tools. For sure not AD. So, who is left? True..nobody. ...

Re: Maya 2019 released...
I think all that patent stuff is a myth.. Ture. That´s why I put it in ".." ;) But it was always a good excuse for developers or software manufactures NOT to implement features other software had... Either way..there is no replaycement for XSI and ICE by today..and ADs Maya does not want ...
