Re: Blender 2.80 to arrive in 2018
Well I do have account on BA since 2004, it was Elsyiun or something in old days and Ton wasn't born yet :) (well, last is impossible, but anyway), it's me (amm) already a few posts above yours on BA AN thread. Have some ideas for next weekend round, perhaps on both forums. LOL, ok, didn't notice t...

@Mathaeus:
I want to encourage you to create an account at the BA forums and to tell this to Jaques in the AN thread, it probably would increase the chances of your feature request being implemented

Re: Blender 2.80 to arrive in 2018
Ton mentioned Softimage explicitly in another video interview, during a developer recruitment announcement. He'd love devs from Si. He considers it the best 3D software to have been developed. He said it was a shame Autodesk shut it down. I'll grab that vid too. Do you have a link to that interview?

BTW, if you want to support the Blender 2.8 development you can do that by participating in the "Codequest" campaign

Did you uninstall the Geforce drivers properly before installing the new card?
There is a tool called DDU that should be helpful for this.

Yeah Markus, always pushing Softimage to the limits
I wasn't aware of the possibility to create a standin from a pointcloud.

Did you try...
- rendering the scene without the vdb?
- another renderer?
- using the cached sim without streching it in the mixer?

Re: Why an Indonesian studio choose Blender over 3ds
I've spent a few hours with it now and I have to say I quite like it so far. I am wondering about it's overall stability but that's something only time will tell. From my experience, concerning stability, Blender is at a comparable level to Softimage and in any case MUCH better than Maya. Here is t...

Re: Softimage Explosia FX released!
So, since Explosia FX is not available anymore for Softimage, I think it's ok to point out an alternative way to create VDBs for rendering in Softimage with Redshift. The solution is... *drumroll* Blender! :-bd I did a quick test. Here is how it works, it's really easy - just create a smoke sim in B...
