Re: caached particles dont load...
I think there are some bugs in 2014... if you have different instance shapes, caches may go full retard.

If you have icetree also in modeling stack, duplicate the pointcloud and apply cache to this pc (so modeling stack will stay and mixer op will be over it). Also caching with animate->plot is most reliable.

Re: Autodesk retires Softimage
I suppose we should wait and see what version 1 of Bifrost can offer before completely ignoring Maya. I'm just not that hopeful :(( Haven't Autodesk normally posted up a few 'sneak peeks' of upcoming versions by now? Strange we've seen nothing yet! Re: softimage interaction mode?
As im learning maya now I would love to have S key navigation. My fingers rests on ASD and thumb on spacebar, so S is more natural for me. If the nav key is the most used key ever, that means I need to either bend the thumb to unnatural position or move hand away from ASDQWE (time waste when using s...

Re: pass manager
In max you have state sets. Its a scripted semi-retarded pass system. Very bugged (aka not production ready) and very limited, with awkard workflow The way it works (a design of true genius :ympray: ) -you click 'RECORD' red button -you change some things eg visibility, or apply different material t...
