Whirlpool

Post by steven07 » 16 Sep 2010, 01:08

Hey everyone,

I'm trying to make a whirlpool in ICE. Here's what I have so far.. what I can't figure out is how to rotate the particles. Any ideas? Or even maybe a better idea of how to make a whirlpool?

Really not sure, but wouldn't applying the "Non-ICE Force" named "Eddy" or "Vortex" suffice? :-\

i would try to use Eric's emNewton, or do the effect manually with a designed curve spiral and particle flow around curve with turbulence on it, but thats tricky i guess tehre is a better way to do it.

Sadly reproducing those effects require a lot of understanding how the particles move in the real world effect wich is most cases is hard to re-pro.

Check emNewton out, its free and does a "vortex" effect kinda, i guess you can modify that for your need
