Danny and the Wild Bunch (all done in softimage)

Post by angelous4x » 03 Mar 2015, 08:45

This is what it means to work Together with Friends who you love, respect and admire to the fullest, and the result is "Danny and the Wild Bunch". we are Happy to share this Project who spent some time though the film festival circuit. We screened in over a dozen festivals and won multiple awards (and an “Honorable Mention,” Not sure what that means, Might just be a fell good about yourself, because you almost made it, title) Please Enjoy.

DANNY hit several blogs through out the week. Then on Friday, it was selected as a VIMEO STAFF PICK (https://vimeo.com/channels/staffpicks/107535313) and featured on the front page of vimeo. That’s when things really took off.

At the time of this post-- DANNY has been seen by… 45,000 people (and counting)

We also received a few online reviews and a lot of great comments from viewers. Here are a few:

“I love when sugar, spice, and everything nice goes to hell.” - gizmodo.com
“It’s fun to watch chipper, CG characters go all horror movie...” - i09.com
“The character design and animation of these characters are great, and the brief story it tells is pitch perfect.” - geektyrant.com
“The animation/performance, lensing and camera work is fantastic.” - Supernaut.com
“That was great. Reminds us of the dark humor in classics like Gremlins." - theawesomer.com

viewer comments:

“Soooo epicc!!!.”
“Magnificent with a dark twist.”
“Dark and hilarious!”
“OMG! That was awesome! I didn't want it to end.”
“Fooooack!! That’s brilliantly done!”
"Holy hell, this would make such a great feature-length film.”
“Damn creepy. Very MISERY.”
“Nora Zehetner is always lovely to watch. :>”
“Loved it! Fantastic story and the sound was great, too!”
“Great score and musical compositions! Really brings this short to life.”

and someone even wrote us a poem — (yep.)

“She writes the words and they are just pictures
How will she respond to all the strictures?
Characters too bland, constant rejection
Gritty realism needs injection
Edits the story, includes darker things
Didn't suspect, they'd be pulling the strings!"

In addition to that, DANNY AND THE WILD BUNCH was also invited to screen in several international film festivals — Imaginaria Animation Film Festival in Italy and Filmets Badalona Film Festival in Spain.

Oh, and in the oddest DANNY moment of the week — we were tweeted out by director Wes Craven on twitter —

Yeah. That happened.

some stills can be seen on my website www.angelnegron.com lighting test, look dev and some texturing test.

Rather stunning! Reminded me of "The Twilight Zone" :-bd
A "Making Of" would be nice.

Extremly well done.

LOVE it.

What I would love to know. Are you guys are part of a company, students, just some random artists who knew each other ?
