Thanks guys! I was only a small part of the production, did the pre-vis, rigs and camera anim. The CG side was made by Seed Animation Studios, the main man was Neil Kidney. I don't know everyone who worked on it, but those I do know were Darren Cullis, Omar Sarmiento, Kornel Makarowicz, Vladimir Venkov (models/textures), Chris Banasko, Doug Kennedy (lighting), Richenda Wheeler (animation). The director Hattie Newman made everything out of papercraft in her own studio (with a small army of assistants I guess!) and sent them over to recreate digitally.

AWESOME!! Fantastic work, how much of that was 3d character versus 2d? I really can't tell the difference.

Everything is 3D, except for the far away landscape.

Another movie, a trailer released on December 2018 : Gran Blue Fantasy Versus

@myara & mattmos Great ones, very different styles but so much attention to detail in both. That's something you can afford only when using software that you don't have to struggle with all the time ;)

Emphasis in "struggle". Totally agree. In softimage you sit to work, stand up to deliver. Should be the new tagline.

Fantastic technique to see it implemented!! so inspiring!! Congratulations. Awesome setup!

      Darren Cullis

Paul Smith showed me this technique. It's Very similar to something I've done in the past but works much better. .
