I'm loading a tsv and create around 26000 cubes with it where it has to scale and translate.
If i look at windows task manager then it says softimage is not responding.
However, i remember from mapping for half-life that this is not a good indication. I had maps that took 24 hours to compile (on a slow pc), where task manager sayd the app was not responding until it was done.
A better way i used back then was look at the cpu and memory use of a program. If it was changing then it was good.
I hope that still works.
The cpu still changes between 99 and 98% and the memory changes litle around 1,018,280k.
So it's probably good right?
Also is there a max memory in softimage? Note i use a virtual machine atm, so might try my pc later.
how to know if a script still runs
Re: how to know if a script still runs
you could use a progress bar. It will slow things a little since it has to refresh with each iteration but the user will know the script is running.

how can i do that?

I'm writing you from my phone so I can't explain you how to do it, but you can search "progressbar" in your SDK manual.
