Modelling issue

Ok, I'm now studying Vitaly bulgarov DVD (from gnomon), a great tutorial. this DVD convinced me take a look to XSI.
In his first video Vitaly talk about his favourite XSI tools and setting.
First doubt: Vitaly use some shourtcut I don't find in any guide:
1) He maximize one view window without use the icon in the interface. Any shourtcut about, or can be assigned from keymap?
2) He use insert polygon tool from shortcut, but don' appear any dialogue box, how can disable dialogue box when activate a tool like this?

1) Probably "F12"
2) from the User's Guide:

Press Ctrl when choosing a command that creates an object or property.
If your preference is set to automatically open property editors, no property editor opens. If your preference is set to not open property editors automatically, a property editor opens for the newly created element.

Other question:
can I import keymap setting?

Keymaps are saved in .xsikm files in the folder C:\Users\(your username)\Autodesk\Softimage_(version)\Application\keymaps

you can just move them between different versions. Couldn't live without my custom keymap D
