Hi guys, I'm playing a little with Lagoa and I have some question about it.
The first thing is, there is a ways to sove the simulation in a way that particles rotate like they will do? Like in a rigid body simulation way. If I set the particles in a sphere shape and run the simulation, the orientation (even if I set Orient particles in the Lagoa Multiphysic node) doesn't change "in the right way". If they reach a plane and move on it they stay the same direction. There is a way to get it? It's very easy to do basic jobs and it's very fast so it would be great if there will be a way to have those informations available.
The other thing. I can't get to work the "Lagoa Set Collision data" to work. I set up the nodes like the guide says (select the object and "Particles/Collisions/Set collision data") but even if I set a friction of 100 for the collision object the particles continue to react like nothing it's setted... It's me that I'm doing something wrong? Or it's a bug?
Thank you guys! =)

Re: LAGOA questions
It's going to depend on your simulation set up. What's the friction setting in your main material?Gabba wrote:The other thing. I can't get to work the "Lagoa Set Collision data" to work. For example, if you load the Basic Emission example, changing the friction in the Lagoa Set Collision Data doesn't appear to change anything. But that's because it works together with the friction in the Main Material, and that friction is already so high that any more friction doesn't make a visible difference.

It seems that Softimage had a problem. Reopened the scene now and everything work as expected!
Thank you very much for the reply =)

Re: LAGOA questions
This is from docs
The point rotation is not calculated unless you select the Orient Particles option in the Lagoa Simulate Multiphysics node. This allows the particles to change orientation according to forces and collisions. You can see this easily when the particle shape is something like a building block or an irregular-shaped rock.

Re: LAGOA questions
Yes I knew. I turned it on and the rotation that I get it's "totally wrong" for the kind of simulation I want. If my particles are flowing and a plane, even if the Orient Particle option is on, they didn't rotate they just slide on it.origin wrote:This is from docs

Re: LAGOA questions
Sorry to hijack this thread, i have a question lagoa related.
Regarding 'Advecting Geometry with Lagoa:
for example i have a cloth (simple grid) with particles that emits at each vertice (lagoa emit mesh). Now i want a stream of particles that interact with the cloth but i see in the documentation it is setupd in the same pointcloud. So my question is how to add polygonizer to the cloth and the stream of particles?
here is a pic of the icetree,

Re: LAGOA questions
You can clone the particles in the fluid's material/phase into a separate cloud and polygonize that, if I understand your question correctly.XSIconvert wrote:So my question is how to add polygonizer to the cloth and the stream of particles?

Re: LAGOA questions
Im confused, how can i clone just those 2 nodes (fluids material/phase) in a 2nd pointcloud without copying the rest of the nodes, I cant see how i can do that?
Im using a 'advect simulated mesh node' so that the stream of particles interact with the cloth.
thanks,

Re: LAGOA questions
Test whether the points are set to the phase that you want, and then clone them if they are as below. Note that you'll need to remove "Self" from the Clone Point's "Source" parameter.
