Hello programmers, I´ve been looking for information on how to make a simple flash button
and invoke an action inside softimage. For example: a simple sphere selection.
I know how to build stuff inside .FLA but I can´t get my head around the .js commands that would mostly "talk" to xsi, and also how to pass variables from flash to softimage and viceversa.
I know some of you may have this solved by now, but If you guys can help me I promise to give you back all the credits for it.
Could anyone help me on this , please?
Thanks.
David.

Re: Flash integration with softimage
Well, there has been some talk about using Flash in stuff like synoptic views. So far, however, I think most people have shied away from this because of the expected problems on a 64 bit OS. If the new preview Adobe Flash Player "Square" solves any of these problems, especially where Softimage is concerned, is unclear to me (but I'm no expert at all). But as long as Flash based solutions would only run on 32 bit Softimage, you'd be developing for only a small part of the user base, I'm afraid...
(That obviously not being any kind of problem, if you're only developing for your own pipeline...

32 bits..gash of course! Thanks for the tech info. Now I know why people isn´t getting anything out of this jewel.
Still, I will aim to create my simple button to invoke actions inside softimage, I can see on the Jo Plaete site that he works trough the net view.
