Saturn Peach

Post by Maximus » 16 Jul 2010, 00:04

So, today i had some peaches for lunch, and since those have an interesting shape
i decided to make them a tribute, for anyone who doesnt know they are called Saturn or Donut Peaches, because they
got this squashed shape!

this is what happens when i'm on vacation and bored!
Well its not much but was a procedural shading fun, hope you like it :) soft and Mr

here is a screen of the tree
i mostly used a base paint from PS then i added other nodes for diffuse and bump
used Enhanche XSI shaders

Never seen donut peaches myself - but you came close with the furry skin that they have. Thanks or the rendertree shot.

I like it! :-bd
Could you possibly repost the Render Tree with "view shaderballs" set to "on", i.e. adding a nice little shaderball to each node, to give us a better understanding of what's happening at each and every node?

A lot of nodes in that Render Tree are from the Enhance XSI Textures commercial addon...

Isn't there a node like combiner built in already? What's the difference?

thanks for comments guys, sorry for late answer!

#steven07 the combiner node is like a mix node, it just mix the images

little update, i've decide to try to push this further, hopefully i wont fail!
I've thought to introduce a peach tree, and studied some "shot" for an animation.
The idea is to promote a peach based drink.
Basically the idea is to have the tree growing from 0, being hit by wind chrages, peaches fall down, then the drink comes into play
with a flow of liquid floating around the bottles etc.

I have no idea where i'll get stuck but so far i'm trying to get a good looking tree, i've modeled the bottles and gave them a quick shading, need to make the sliver and the proper texture.

The tree was made with t-gen wich was unbelievable powerfull in that creation, i needed some precise things and i've found it very complex but it gives you so much control you'll love it.

Big thanks to Eric Mootz for his awesome update on emPolygonizer, now i can use motion blur on the liquid sim :)

enough talk, here are 2 raw render for preview purpose
