Might be interesting to some of you...
You'd have to check with your reseller for the finer details.
From May 17, 2010 to July 18, 2010, select customers who own previous versions of Autodesk products can save up to 50% when they move to the latest Autodesk 2011 solutions with purchase of Autodesk Subscription.

This is great for anyone who is thinking of upgrading. Now if we could get 50% of subscription that would be cool too!

Softimage is there, in the right column under the "50% Off Upgrades from Prior Version and Retroactive Subscription
& 50% Off for Legacy**" heading.

Hmm, Interesting. I'm wondering if this includes me. My previous Softimage Subscription ended around end-of-Sept 2009. I know I can purchase subscription at the normal subscription price from my reseller before end-Sept 2010 and get licensed for SI2011. I'm aware that if I did that the subscription would still run out end-Sept2010. So I'd pay for a year and get a couple of months. I know if I don't don't buy it before that time, I'm locked out of subscription and will have to upgrade to get it again.
I'm just wondering if any discount is available to me in this situation? (I'm not sure what retroactive subscription is!)?
Thanks.

I'd rapidly contact some local reseller if I were you,
as this would IMHO qualify as "the finer details" I mentioned above... ;)

You read my mind, I ended up writing an email to my reseller straight after I posted here!
Glad you're optimistic about my situation!
EDIT: It's a US only promotion.
Oh well. 2010 has and will continue to serve me well.
