Would be really useful if anyone using SItoA could share a collection of simple scenes demonstrating basic features like bump maps, normals maps, VDMs, displacement, stand-ins and so on.

I second this. I could really use some help trying to figure out how to hook up a normal map.... so far I'm having zero luck with that. I'm sure someone on this list must know how to do it. Fingers crossed !

These are the setup i use for bump normal and displacement (for displacement you need arnold mesh properties on the object)

Thanks Maximus, very useful indeed!

It looks like this is tangent-space already, and all the tangent calculations are done automatically inside Arnold (unlike with mental ray where we had to generate tangent-map vertex properties and plug them in and so on)

im afraid i dont know how to import stands in, but to export them use the render manager under "ass archives" tab

i think there is a parameter missing, because as far as i know in maya you use "export > ass archive" and "import", i can not find any node or menu where you can import ass in arnold in softimage, weird. maybe jenus can help us when he takes a look at the forums
