ShapeSizeAbsolute problem

Hi guys,

I have a problem rendering strands that moves closer and further away from camera. The strand size stays constant no matter
how far it is from camera, so...

According to the docs here http://softimage.wiki.softimage.com/index.php/Strand_Dynamics
I should use the ShapeSizeAbsolute attribute, but could not find it under the list off attributes under the pointcloud. I tried to create this myself, but it does not work.

Any ideas...I'm tired so, maybe I'm missing something really stupid.

Sorry, but I have to ask: you're using Softimage 2011?

No, I'm still on 2010...is that part of the problem?

Yes, sadly, the "ShapeSizeAbsolute" attribute was introduced with Softimage 2011...

edit: stupid typo: I meant 2011, not 2010

man that sucks...there has to be a way to "fix this" though with an ICE setup that "inverts the math" so that camera distance can then NOT effect the size. I'm sure there is probably some way to do it with ray casting into the scene too...but I'm REALLY guessing off the top of my head.

It seems he made up some sort of solution...maybe you could get him to make a compound of it and send it to you?
