Under the terms of the agreement, users of Maxon’s Cinema 4D can now use Iray for Cinema 4D, a physically based rendering plug-in useful for highly accurate previews for lighting, scene design, and adjusting scene geometry and materials.
Iray for Cinema 4D provides live rendering, offering immediate visual feedback while lighting and designing a scene. Artists can continue to use the physically plausible material options of the Cinema 4D material nodes and shaders, and add their own material designs and procedural functions using Nvidia Material Definition Language. The full Nvidia vMaterials library is supported, as well as material exchange capabilities with other MDL-compatible applications.

Re: Maxon signs agreement with Nvidia for Iray
As a devout (not by choice) Mentalray user I'm starting to have muscle spams (around me left eye) whenever I hear about a rendering engine with the suffix "ray".
Nvidia and iray can die a slow death as far as I'm concerned, but thanks for the news reporting Bullit
