Softimage 2015 issues

Eventually I plan on buying Sotimage 2015...

But there where a few problems..

for instance,

X Ray didn't work right.

While the bones showed through the model, I couldn't click on them at all.
this happened on a fresh install with no changes to the program.


any ideas on what could be wrong?
i think th ere where one or two other problems, but this was a major one that caused me to go back to 2014.

Xray selection is a fix in 2015 SP1

hmm, i was reading the fine detail, and it looks like in order to get the update, you need to have softimage 2016 versions?

Why is that a needed ability?


seems kind of sneaky for someone to buy the 2015 and not being able to update the 2015.

makes me just want to stick to buying 2014. at least it works out of the b ox.

Im not sure how gre SI licenses work anymore, it's more complicated than ever so in case you want or need to stay with 2015 vanilla, you can change the selection mode with an environment variable.

As written on that page, there are two installers for the service packs. The actual 2015 Sp1 updates Softimage 2015, and then there is a "Release 2" version of the package that update 2016 products (like Maya 2016 with Softimage).
