Looks to be very good version. Eric hints of what is coming also.
I also must say that the style of Canvas looks very polished and friendly. Not something graphically aggressive.

Canvas UI is what MCG should have been or what BiFrost node UI should be like.
I know they'll port it to C4D as well, just don't know when.

I hope they port it to Blender. They both run in Python a lot now it seems?

Should be easier for Blender Python gurus to deal with, and that's more or less all, I think.Draise wrote:I hope they port it to Blender. They both run in Python a lot now it seems?
It seems they are still going wider, trying to catch other markets than DCC, or building standalone apps based on FE. Theoretically, someone can build SI style interface and interaction, over Fabric. By the way, for what I've read and had chance to try, while it's perfectly possible to build deformations in Maya in ICE style, connect some nodes, push points in some way and all that - performance of this way in Maya isn't that shiny, nicely to say, simply is not a competitor against built-in deformers or plugins written directly for Maya, especially when it comes to new Maya evaluation modes. To be fair, FE seems to be still a far stronger there, than Houdini engine .
Is this a next step toward world dominance in future, or just admittance that complete portable engine concept is simply too weak to survive against dedicated plugins and built in stuff in DCC app, we'll see.
