Re: Cinema 4D R17 Announced
I have one question, to XSI users (I started with XSI 7). C4D main bulletpoint is Takes system, wich looks akin to our render passes. When and with what else XSI render passes was integrated into Softimage? I just find odd that, while very useful, it alone deserves a 1.0+ upgrade, because the rest of the announcements looks... just ok. Im not sure if Maxon is trying to stay competitive anymore, because they are ignoring for years key parts of C4D like bodypaint and xpresso.
Im trying to look at the bright side, but I dont want to spend time on another sofware that I love to learn and work with, to be discontinued, either because an evil company bought them or their owners lose the way (like with Lightwave).
What I find nice, is, Softimage is still king in many aspects, even if its gone. Its really, really odd.
