If only the performance was acceptable.

A friend of mine was working on the "Troll Bridge" project, and even with the speed enhancements in 901 he barely was able to properly animate the rig.
There's a lot to love in Modo regarding rigging and setups, but performance wise they still have a long way to go.

Hate to say it, but Maya has dome some pretty nice improvements in that area. That's the baseline Modo has to hit now for next updates.

I agree ... but at the least, this is a good indication that The Foundry is looking to have more riggers and animators, so I should think that in the next version, animation performance will be one of the major features.

While I do agree that Maya is killing right now, it doesn't hurt to have a knowledge on a non-AD software. :)


And ... given that Sergio is a really great rigger, you should be able to transfer his concepts and workflow to another software.
