LCD Display bit depth. 8bit vs 10bit

Post by alias3ds » 16 Apr 2015, 11:05

Is there anyone know in practice what the main differences between 8bit and 10bit?
Would it be necessary to upgrate 8bit to 10bit to get better rendering?
Thanks.

Also remember, that only the pro cards such as Quadro and FireGL support 10bit output.
Back in the days, there was a workaround, but no more, to my knowlegde.

I dont think it makes much sense with 10 bit, unless you do "high-end" prepress.
I have a 10bit NEC panel, and I don't see that much of a difference in daily work / renderings.
