Kristinka - Hair Geo Extrusion Error

Hello,

I'm currently in the process of learning Kristinka. I'm stuck at step 5 of the tutorial, which can be seen from the link here:

I'm not able to come up with correct results and the mesh stripes are too long and look weird. Has anyone else experienced this ?
