After reading (and finally grasping) irakli_san’s thread “Evenly Spaced Curve Positions 4 extra points” and getting very useful advice from grahamef in my "own" thread called “UV to Location question” I set out to write my own compound attempting to achieve the same functionality as Julian Johnson's “Evenly Spaced Curve Positions”. I don’t claim any great achievement here, it’s not even anything I’m particularly proud of, just another tiny step in my own painfully slow journey along the ICE-trail.
Let’s comment the compound a bit: I used two compounds from “Phil’s ICE pack”, “Repeat with Counter” and a modified version of “Curve Distance to Curve Location”.
Simply put: I used the “Fill Interpolated Array” compound Helge Mathee demonstrated in his “Arrays in ICE”-tutorial (but later I found out, I could have used “Build Linearly Interpolated Array” from Phil’s ICE pack”) to generate an array of values between zero and the curve length. These values have to be fed into the “Curve Distance to Curve Location” but this compound doesn’t accept arrays, so in “TheLoop” it is fed single values, while the modified “Crv Dist 2 Crv Loc 2” takes the result from the original “Curve Distance to Curve Location”, “CurveLocation” and pushes it unto an array named “CurveArray”. After completing “TheLoop” the “CurveArray” is filled with as the necessary Locations and these get transformed into “PointPositions”, i.e. 3D Vectors.
