I have an object that i want to start deformed and then return to the initial position.
In this case the object being very deformed is very difficult to use a null/geo trigger to hit the correct points. The null/geo will paint a weightmap and the weight map triiger the points to return position -at this time don't know if i'll use Syflex -
So i thought of using a copy of this object without the deformation and then move the null along the ponts that i want to be undeformed first to this will be replicated in correct positions in the deformed mesh.
What will be the best way to copy a weightmap on the fly?
Copy animated weightmap from a mesh to a copy?

Not entirely sure, but isn't this just a case of creating a (simulated?) ICE Tree on your target object,
getting the ".cls.WeightMapCls.Weight_Map.Weights" of the original object,
add a "switch context" and setting the data on your target object?
Your target object would need to have a weightmap defined beforehand...

its called 'Switch Context'
the sphere on the right has the weightmap the sphere on the left has it applied with switch context.

Yes, that indeed is very different from the "switch context" I called the node... ;)Tekano wrote:its called 'Switch Context'

lol Hirazi, I read too fast and only the first line and did not read you had actually answered the question already further on. my apologies!
** edit ** but in my meagre defence, one does not need a simulated ICE tree for this node to work and just assumed you were already wrong and did not concern with the rest.
so will try read to the end next time. I promise
