Hello,
for a long time i would like to test if a particle has been already generated or not at a specific position.
I would like to use that for custom made compound using the add point node.
In fact when i generate a point at the first frame there is no problem, but on a simulated ice tree the addpoint node is constantly generating point for the next frames, that's normal but i want not in particular cases.
Softimage Emitters works by creating a seed and testing it the next frame, but me i want to test if the particle emit_position is the same. How can i do that ? arrays but don't know exactly how (i've tried but with no luck, problem of contexts).
Thanks
nono

Re: filter if emitted for a specific position
Hi nono..!
Perhaps you can describe the effect you try to reach a bit more precise. Do you want to emit a specific number of particles until or at a specific frame..? Why do you want to test the emit positions..?
Of course can you test the emit position of each particle against all the others. Arrays do work and you won´t be able to do it without. Neighbour-nodes without cutoff do the job in conjunction with find in array_node. But before, you´ll have to build an array on which you push the emit-position of each particle. So far ;)
